Luciano Il Ristorante in Cologne

Quite perfect to still be able to eat a dessert afterwards. The place really has the potential to be my next hangout. The seating is extremely pleasant and I find the distance between the tables particularly decent. There you don't get the feeling of dining like fish in a can in the evening. Here you get both: friendly and fast service.

How should I put it simply the best Italian restaurant in Cologne and that has been constant for many years.

Very friendly staff and good food

Not only was the attentive local staff the absolute hit when I visited, but also the great atmosphere. It has never happened to me in the pub that a cold meal came onto the table. The selection of drinks leaves nothing to be desired. I can highly recommend the restaurant! My husband and I find the inn up-to-date for all events, whether with a husband, acquaintance or family.

Staff super unfriendly and from above. We shared a starter for two and wanted to share a dessert after the main course. The owner literally said word to us (!): "You can't afford that". Absolutely cheeky and arrogant. The food was not even good, but average, which in no way justifies the high prices.

In 10 years about 10 times visited always excellent would love to come back when in Cologne

Absolutely brilliant cuisine!

We came to this Italian restaurant with the hope of eating and paying as we were in Italy, the excellent welcome, the rest is better not to comment on it, given the exorbitant prices it is enough to say that 3 bottles of 75cl water cost € 27. If you are not local, avoid, there are better restaurants with human prices. Very disappointed.

I am a scientist and professional food reviewer and I was a customer in January 2020 as part of my Köln "Reviews for Fun" trips. This place really gets 3 stars for just 1 reason: THE CHEF! She did such a good job on presentation. Food is an art form, a canvas where you have to be able to BALANCE tastes and looks. I liked her concentration with a relaxed mood. However I take two stars out because of some minor lacks of balance in taste for the appetizer. Also for the pricy menu that doesn't really deliver. I SO HOPE THE YOUNG FEMALE CHEF WHO COOKED THE MEAL READ THIS. YOU ARE AMAZING. but PLEASE SHOW YOUR BEAUTIFUL SMILE MORE (that is, don't be indifferent or sad looking). I know the kitchen culture is different, but you are in an open design kitchen. Greet customers. Ask them how they liked it. Kindness is an after taste that remains for years.

I was here with my beloved one on June 6 and June 7 - after a very disappointing experience wit the Service at the Daitokai Restaurant. The service and the food at the Luciano was on the 7th as good as on the 6th. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of my starter - scampies with hazelnuts - as it was smelling and tasting so great that I couldn't wait to eat. It really help to forget my anger about our treatment by the service team of Daitokai and it becomes a great evening thanks to the team and the food of Luciano.

I was there a couple of times and I not the person who writes many rezessions and if it is because something was very worng. THIS REZESSION IS DIFERENT. All through the years it was an outstanding experience to eat here. WONDERFUL FOOD AND GREAT SERVICE...EVERY TIME!

My grandparents were regulars at Luciano some 40 years ago. After a long time, they decided to go there with a part of the family again. The food was really good and the staff was very friendly to us and competent. The owner Nunzio kept coming to our table and talked to us after the meal for a long time. Even though my grandparents can no longer afford to eat there every Sunday as they used to, Luciano is and remains a cult place that has changed little after all these years. It deserves the good reputation!

Decent food if you want to get away from pork knuckle and potatoes.. good fish and nice pasta.. worth a try, and for a refreshing change, the waiters are actually not rude unlike the unreasonable behaviour of the guys in the breweries

Original traditional Italian food .

Still an institution in Cologne. Previously, the council sessions were held here. Occasionally one still meets old and new cliques of the Cologne politics. But most important: the quality is still at a high level, the service mostly attentive and the prices lifted. The interior seems to be appropriate for decades. An unconditional recommendation!

This restaurant is adjacent to a highly rated establishment. Don’t bother going there go HERE. The food, staff and service is 5 star and the value for your money is extraordinary. A must visit when in Cologne. Thank you!

Was it tasty? -Yes Was it expensive (by the standards of other Italian institutions)? The wine was pleasant and soft. The food is delicious. Contingent-family gatherings (Sunday). It's not entirely clear why the menu is only on the board. When we wanted to do another order, they carried the board again. But it is heavy and cumbersome. It was not very convenient.

How to be at home! Homemade gnocchi, fresh pasta and great wine! The quality of the service is excellent, an old-fashioned restaurant, also suitable for an elegant dinner or a business lunch. I also met chef, congratulations!

Best meal we had in Cologne. Truffle pasta was excellent, lamb chops as well.

The place looks nice but the people running it are terrible. Went to have dinner with the family, my parents included. The waiters started to scream from the balcony that the things we wanted to order on the menu were not available. They were incredible rude, all family got stressed. We left without eating. What a disgrace.

German-speaking guests are not welcome ??? We were there around 8.30pm on Saturday. An awkward waiter poured me red wine, stains on the tablecloth and the wine ran down the glass. Was unfortunately ignored by the waiter. The table decoration was very primitive: small cactus in an inferior pot, salt and pepper shakers on a plastic base. The menu was a blackboard on which the dishes were written in Italian. Unfortunately we are not able to speak this language and we were very surprised that even the waiter had to get a translator. Germans only seem to be welcome here if they speak the Italian language! The food was not very good either. I had spaghetti with eggplant / tomato sauce (0815 - taste, only crumbs of the sheep's cheese could be seen) My husband had ordered a pasta dish which could have used more sauce. The noodles looked dry. At least 5 waiters bustled around us and were more concerned with themselves !!

We love this place - as do many others so it's usually necessary to reserve. Beautifully cooked traditional Italian food and friendly staff.

I would give six stars if I could. The place is awesome in the sense of "awesome". The food is just excellent, esp the meats (veggies could have been a bit more al dente, but we were a large crowd and the food had to wait a bit in the kitchen). Wonderful atmosphere, super cheeky-cool and extremely Italian service. If there is a slight hint of critique it is on the desserts. They are " only" good, not excellent.
